Caffeine and Mental Disorder.

Did you know that caffeine is the most commonly used ‘psychoactive’ substance, meaning that it is the most popular mind-altering mind drug in the world? In North America alone 90% of adults consume some form of caffeine each day.

Caffeine is a naturally produced substance found in some plants, and the plants produce it as a defence mechanism to kill of bugs…so if the bug bites into the plant, the plant will produce caffeine and the bugs will die. This is basically a natural organic pesticide.

Caffeine is used as a commercial pesticide to spray on crops…so a small bug-eating into the sprayed plant of caffeine will die. Now if you give that to a person it will act as a stimulant. However caffeine is still a poison and if consumed on a regular basis you can suffer from headaches, fatigue, difficulty concentrating, and even nausea and muscle pain.

Listed in the DSM ( Diagnostic and Statistical Manual) of Mental Disorders, caffeine intoxication can cause: restlessness, nervousness, excitement, insomnia, wanting to go to the toilet a lot, intestinal disturbance, muscle twitching, rambling flow of thought and speech, cardiac arrhythmia, psycho-moto agitation, periods of exhaustion. If you struggle with waking up in the morning and that you need to have a cup of coffee first thing in the morning its because you are having withdrawal symptoms after the overnight abstinence.

So caffeine is bad for your health and so addictive.
